AUDITIONING FOR FILM I:
No matter how many film classes you have taken, or books you may have read, it won’t help you get parts in movies if you don’t know how to audition for film! You will never get the chance to strut your stuff on set or use what you have learned in other classes, if you don’t first get the part.
Auditions are the gateways to your dreams and the process is often overlooked in training. As a casting director, I have seen many capable actors who didn’t get the part only because they didn’t present the producers with a strong audition.
Auditioning for film has its own set of rules and skills that vary significantly from what you do get on the set. The trick to landing a part in a film, is KNOWING this stuff. Auditioning actors is what I do all day long. I see what works and what doesn’t. I watch in sadness as I see great actors sabotage their chances of success. I have taken mental notes and decided it is time to share this information with the people who matter most - THE ACTORS!
You will learn valuable skills, knowledge, and tricks of the trade that only the pros know, and who better to teach that than a casting director who makes it all happen. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or experienced, I guarantee you will learn things you have never been taught in other classes and you will audition better for knowing it. With lots of time on camera, and individual feedback, you can’t afford to miss this intensive one-day workshop. The fee includes a comprehensive workbook for you to take home with you. Intended for participants 18 years and older

AUDITIONING FOR COMMERCIALS I:
Commercial acting is the bread and butter work for actors in this market, yet few actors seem to know how to audition for them. I see many talented actors that don't know how to audition for commercials. There are so many small things that can make a BIG difference. The question is, do you know what these things are and do you know WHY they are important?
As a casting director, I see what goes on behind the scenes, I hear what the producers say, and what they like or don't like. I can help you understand what to do to get more parts in commercials, based on that information. You will have lots of time on camera to work on specific skills. This is not a fluff and puff class. It is hands on and practical. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or have years of experience, I guarantee you will learn things in my workshop that you have never learned before. With lots of time on camera, and individual feedback, you can’t afford to miss this intensive one-day workshop. For actors of all levels who are 16 or older.
AUDITIONING FOR COMMERCIALS II: This workshop picks up where the first workshop leaves off. It introduces complex commercial audition situations and introduced more advanced skills. For actors of all levels who are 16 or older.
COMMERCIAL IMPROV AUDITIONS: This workshop is designed to teach you how to prepare for the unique challenges of a commercial improv audition. Many times a commercial audition does not require you to deliver lines or it requires only 1 line or 1 word. Many actors make the mistake of believing that these auditions are a “piece of cake” and require little or no preparation or skill. Nothing could be further from the truth. Delivering a line is only one small part of an audition. What makes you stand out is the “other stuff” you do around the line or in the absence of a line. When you are asked to act out an improv situation, you are being asked to show your imagination and personality. What you do in your improv is what gets you the part or not.
Like all auditions, there are standards and protocols to what is and isn’t acceptable. One amateur mistake could cost you the part in a competition intense environment. This workshop covers from beginning to end the commercial improve audition in order to take away the mystery and improve your chances of landing these types of auditions.
AUDITIONING WITH MONOLOGUES: Auditioning with a monologue is a unique type of audition that requires special skills and attention. Whether auditioning for an agent or a film, monologue auditions are a popular audition process which can not be ignored by the competent actor. All too often actors through something together the night before or “wing it” without any real understanding of the importance this form of audition. This workshop will teach you why the monologue audition is used, what materials are best for you and where to find material, how to pace the audition, what to wear, bring, and do at the audition. There is nothing spontaneous about the monologue audition. It is a chance for you to showcase your talents in a “prepared” environment. Intended for participants 16 years or older.
